I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

No Mask Mandates

Americans refuse to be forced to wear a mask ever again. Every member of the U.S. House should join me in supporting the Freedom to Breath Act. I'm proud to stand with Rep. Greene to protect American's freedom. This legislation bans mask mandates on public transportation, planes, and in schools.

Do the Crime, Do the Time

On Wednesday, we heard that the Department of Justice is finally going to move forward with indicting Hunter Biden for felony gun charges. Do you have a guess on how long until Joe "The Big Guy" Biden pardons Hunter? At every opportunity, the media needs to relentlessly ask Joe Biden whether he will publicly commit to NOT pardon Hunter. Remember, Hunter Biden would have sailed off into the sunset with a sweetheart plea deal if not for House Republicans sounding the alarm. Biden's two-tiered system of justice tried to protect Hunter while persecuting Donald Trump. We must remain diligent in restoring real justice for America.

Stop the Invasion

I'm shocked that New York City's Mayor, Eric Adams, finally spoke the truth to Americans about illegal immigration destroying New York City. Since Biden took office, we’ve had over 5.6 million illegal border crossings. Americans are telling Joe Biden it’s time to fix the border. 58% of New Yorkers, 60% of independents, and 80% of Republicans want to see illegal immigration stopped. Joe Biden needs to do his job. Stop the destruction of our country and the funneling of deadly fentanyl into our communities.

Where is the Justice?

Yesterday, Congressman Jim Jordan, who leads the Judiciary Committee, launched an investigation into "Alleged Prosecutorial Abuses by the Office of Special Counsel Jack Smith." It's alleged that Jay Bratt, a senior prosecutor who works for Smith, attempted to undermine attorney-client privilege and extort an attorney. If true, this will be another example of Jack Smith and his team failing to render impartial justice in the persecution of Donald Trump.

War on Energy

This week, the Biden Administration turned its back on commonsense, America-first energy policies by cancelling leases for oil and gas in the National Petroleum Reserve (NPR) in Alaska. We have vast reserves of natural resources at our fingertips, but Joe Biden would rather force you to depend on Russia and China for energy. The NPR was designated by the Nation for resource development. Drilling not only delivers jobs, but natural gas is also responsible for lowering America’s carbon emissions levels. As The Associated Press reported on Tuesday, Saudi Arabia and Russia is cutting oil through December which is causing massive price increases. Biden's policies make us more dependent on adversaries and costs Americans more of their hard-earned money.

Joe Biden’s war on energy is really a war on freedom. He wants to force you to get rid of your gas-powered car or truck and buy an electric vehicle. He wants to force you to get rid of your gas stoves, and gas furnaces. He’s taking away our freedoms in the name of environmentalism by turning his back on clean, reliable energy sources.

The war on energy leaves Americans holding the bag. Instead of allowing the free market to lead companies to greater technological advancements that drive prices down and makes energy production cleaner, the left picks and chooses winners. By defaulting on energy security, Biden’s Administration is weakening our national security.

Bidenomics Propaganda

As the Bidenomics propaganda continues from the White House, the Bureau of Labor Statistics continues to revise June payroll numbers. Original reports claimed payrolls would increase by 209,000, but then was adjusted down to 185,000. Then it was decreased again to show non-farm payrolls increased by only 105,000. Not only are these data revisions suspicious, but it shows how out of touch Biden is with everyday Americans who are crippled by his economic policies.

Perils of Communism

Communism has taken the lives of more than 100,000,000 men, women, and children. Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, Mao Zedong, and Fidel Castro stripped away human rights through Communism. Freedom is the antithesis of Communism. Freedom makes America the greatest country in the world. Because it’s paramount our kids and grandkids know the horrors of Marxism so we can protect freedom and our great nation, I cosponsored the Crucial Communism Teaching Act this week.

Legislative Action

I cosponsored legislation from Rep. Greene to protect American's freedom by banning mask mandates.

I cosponsored H.R. 5349, Rep Salazar's Bill, to ensure American students are educated on the dangers of Communism.

I cosponsored H.J.Res. 88, introduced by Rep. McClain, to disapprove of the Department of Education's attempt to restructure the regulations of Income Driven Repayment Plans for Federal Student Loans.

In the District

Ms. Lake White of Pickens County celebrated a major milestone recently by turning 108 years old. She told everyone her secret to a long life was following Exodus 20:12 and eating "lots of good vegetables and cornbread." Happy birthday Ms. White!

Elementary school students in Saluda will soon have new schools where they can learn to read, write, and play. They recently held a groundbreaking for the new building and several students led attendees in the "Pledge of Allegiance."

A new fishing pier will open on this weekend at the Modoc Boat Ramp. As part of the dedication of the pier, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other partners are promoting a "Take Kids Fishing Day." As an angler myself, I know there's nothing like the thrill of catching your first fish.

Across the Third District, high school football teams are on the gridiron as football season is back! Good luck to all the players under the "Friday night lights."
