This November, all eyes are on Virginia.
All 40 seats of the State Senate and all 100 seats in the House of Delegates will be up for election. This year, the GOP is especially motivated by their extremist base to hold onto the House of Delegates, and they need to win ONLY 2 seats to take back the Senate. Democrats cannot let this happen.
If the GOP is able to consolidate their power, they have promised to pass an abortion ban and repeal Virginia’s red flag laws. A Republican trifecta could set progress in Virginia back by decades. We need to ensure that their dangerous plan fails.
That’s why Vote Mama has endorsed 12 candidates who are running for the Virginia state legislature — but there are ONLY 60 days left to get them elected.
With so much hanging in the balance, we have to double down and do everything we can to make sure voters hear their message and turn out. When extremists talk about “parents rights,” they really mean attacks on public education, attacks on trans kids, and attacks on our democracy.
Our mamas are ready to get to work on day one to pass truly family-friendly legislation around reproductive rights, healthcare access, paid family leave. There’s a saying that “the people closest to the problems are also closest to the solutions.” With so much on the line for moms and families, Virginia moms should be leaders in the solution— but they can’t do it alone.
