John – As the longtime Finance Director for Josh Stein, I don’t normally ask for just $5. But that’s all I’m asking for today.
Why only $5? And why am I counting on your support today of all days? I’ll give you five reasons! ONE: This campaign relies on grassroots donors – and I know it brings Josh immense pride to know his campaign is powered by folks like you, giving $5 or $25 at a time. It may not seem like a lot, but when folks come together to give what they can, our collective power makes a huge difference. TWO: This is going to be one of the most competitive races in the ENTIRE country next year. Pundits are already calling North Carolina the “marquee contest” of all 2024 gubernatorial races – and the polls show us in a dead heat with radical GOP frontrunner, Mark Robinson. THREE: The stakes are at an all-time high. Voting rights, women’s reproductive freedoms, the safety of our communities, and the future of public education are all on the line. Josh has spent his entire career delivering for our state, and we need his leadership now more than ever. FOUR: Mark Robinson is WRONG for North Carolina. He’s a self-described conspiracy theorist who would take our state to the extreme on every issue and would further divide us with his hateful rhetoric and dangerous ideas. FIVE: Despite everything I just said, we’ve seen our fundraising numbers slip over the last few months. We still have time to turn things around and hit our projections, but I need to see our team of grassroots supporters step up to make it happen.
