Cities across the state of Minnesota have begun pulling school resource officers from schools in response to a law passed by the state legislature. Last Friday, the St. Cloud Police Department joined a growing list of school districts and police departments that have put their program on hold or suspended their program entirely.
School resource officers are members of local law enforcement, stationed in our schools to keep students safe. They often become embedded into the fabric of the school community, build relationships with teachers and students, and provide peace of mind to parents.
