Team — When I was growing up, I learned firsthand the power of a quality education.

My family lived below the poverty line, but my mama never made us feel like we were “poor” because we had each other — and she instilled in us that if we worked hard, anything was possible.

Education is the reason why I’m able to do what I do. I studied day and night to get into law school, pass the Bar, and begin serving everyday folks as a lawyer for the people, because I knew that education was the key to building a brighter future for myself. I wouldn’t have been able to get to where I am today without public education.

Fair access to education can break cycles of poverty, incarceration, and crime. For the youth of our communities to achieve their full potential, they need access to a high-quality education in a well-funded classroom.

As Attorney General, it will be a priority of mine to ensure that all students, no matter where they live, have a complete education. That’s why I entered this race — to fight for everyone to have the ability to thrive right here in Louisiana.
