Dear Friend, Did you know that, on Oct. 26th, you can have the opportunity to meet directly with congressional offices and help educate and motivate federal policy makers to combat sexual exploitation? Just sign up to attend our Congressional Advocacy Days! Now, you may be thinking: “I definitely want to combat sexual exploitation … But is talking to policy makers really the best way to do that?” We’re so glad you asked! In fact, engaging with federal policy makers is one of the most effective things we can do to end sexual exploitation. The decisions made by Congress have wide-ranging, generational impact, shaping culture and influencing what is considered acceptable behavior for years to come. Currently, over 340 million people live in the U.S. When a federal law is passed, it impacts not only these 340 million people—but the hundreds and potentially thousands of millions more who are born into future generations! There are few things we can do that have this massive of an impact. |
