John,
The summer is already coming to a close – can you believe it? As August ends, the school year begins and Liz’s kids go off to college and back to High School, I look back on my time in in school. Rather than remembering the warm feeling I had for the first day of school, it reminds me of the realities that I faced, my friends faced, and my teachers faced.
Going to school should not mean clear backpacks.
It should not be about banning books.
It should not mean lockdown drills.
It should not mean fearing for your life or your child's life.
Liz Whitmer Gereghty served two terms on the Katonah-Lewisboro school board. She is a mother of three. She knows what it means to want to protect your children, your neighbor, your friend. She knows what it’s like to put your child on the school bus in the morning and hope with everything you have that they come home the same way. That’s why she worked with those in her community to pass a bond (the first in over 20 years) that puts in place safety measures to protect those going to school everyday.
We need Liz to continue her hard work and help all in NY-17. Will you join Team Liz by making a contribution today? Go to: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/.
Thank you for your support and for joining Team Liz.
Best,
