New York, NY –Today, Congressman Jerrold Nadler (NY-12) announced the award of 17 grants through the Non-Profit Security Grant Program (NSGP) and 3 through the Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention (TVTP) to institutions in New York's 12th Congressional District.The NSGP provides critical security resources to vulnerable faith based and nonprofit institutions and is essential to combatting rising anti-Semitic attacks in New York. The TVTP Grant Program provides financial assistance to eligible applicants in communities across the country to develop targeted violence and terrorism prevention programming in their communities, pilot innovative prevention approaches, and identify prevention best practices that can be replicated nationwide.
“Whether at home, at school, or in worship, New Yorkers deserve to be safe from the rise of targeted violence and domestic terrorism plaguing our country,”said Congressman Nadler.“I have long supported funding for the NSGP and TVTP which provide the resources to secure at-risk institutions across the country. This fight is personal to me. As the Member of Congress representing one of the largest Jewish communities in the world, this funding is critical to combatting the rising number of antisemitic incidents we are seeing around the country.”

- Edmond J. Safra Synagogue - Congregation Beit Edmond
- Congregation Shearith Israel; The Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue; Trustees of the Cong Shearith Israel
- Temple Shaaray Tefila
3 Grants were awarded through the TVTP to the following institutions to address gaps in the prevention of targeted violence and establish bystander training programs:
- Columbia University, $820,332
- New York Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, $296,566
- John Jay College, $126,764
