John -
President Biden is heading to New Delhi, India for the G20 summit — a gathering of the world’s most powerful leaders — and we need him to act on climate.
In the midst of what the U.N. Chief recently called the “era of global boiling,” it’s critical that world leaders take bold, immediate action to limit the rise of global temperatures.
The United States is the second biggest emitter of fossil fuels, which means we have a critical role to play in reversing this alarming trend and ensuring a future for us and our planet.
That’s why we’re urging President Biden to take a stand at the G20 summit and come out in strong support to massively scale up global renewable energy and limit the rise of global temperatures.
Renewable energy investment is growing at an incredible rate, but it needs to move faster to stave off the worst impacts of the climate crisis.
In order to keep up, we need renewable energy to generate an additional 1.5TW every year between now and 2023 to keep global temperatures under 1.5°C of warming.
That means we need to reallocate 1.5TW of energy creation from fossil fuels to renewable energy — and we need President Biden to support this renewable energy target and use his influence at G20 to get all other countries on the same page.
To keep up the pressure, we need to generate as many petition signatures as possible ahead of this weekend’s summit.
Thank you for making your voice heard,
