Pennsylvania isn’t just a critical state in the presidential race. It’s home to a slew of competitive congressional seats. That’s why I was thrilled to hear that my friend Mike O’Brien just launched his campaign in PA-10.

As a Marine Corps veteran with years of service under his belt, Mike has the tested leadership skills that Pennsylvanians need in Congress.

Take it from me: Mike’s service in the Marine Corps is nothing short of impressive. He completed two combat deployments as one of our country’s top fighter pilots – call sign “Snooki.” A TOPGUN graduate who flew F/A-18 Hornets off of aircraft carriers, he was made a squadron Commanding Officer for his tactical leadership, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Mike has spent the last 20 years defending democracy overseas. Now he’s running to defend our democracy from unapologetic insurrectionists, like his opponent, Scott Perry. Perry was one of the ringleaders in the January 6th insurrection — he even sought a presidential pardon from Donald Trump after the fact. (Doesn’t that tell you all you need to know?)

Just a glance at Scott Perry’s voting record in Congress shows how his embrace of political extremism has come at the expense of the rest of the country. Perry voted against expanding VA healthcare to treat veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic chemicals. He also voted against bipartisan legislation that ensured women’s contraception was accessible to all service members and veterans.

You and I have both seen how dangerous that level of right-wing extremism can be.

So I’m doing everything I can to help Mike O’Brien win this crucial toss-up seat in PA-10. But it’ll be a tough fight, with far-right politicians expected to use the full force of their war chests to support his opponent.
