Marti Carlson has honorably served our state and our party for over three decades.
Her political contributions include serving on the management team of multiple high-profile campaigns including John Larson, Nancy Wyman, Kevin Lembo, Sean Scanlon, Stephanie Thomas, and Erick Russell. She was the statewide political director for Malloy/Wyman 2010, convention manager for Chris Murphy for Senate in 2012, and led Women for Murphy in 2012. She is currently a member of the Democratic National Committee and has been a delegate to the National Nominating Convention for the last four cycles.
Marti has been a member of the Guilford Democratic Town Committee since 1990, serving several terms as Chair. She has managed every Guilford municipal and State Representative campaign since 1990. She has also served in the Office of State Comptroller for 27 years, first as Assistant Comptroller to Nancy Wyman and then as Deputy Comptroller to Kevin Lembo.
Marti has mentored young Democratic candidates and political volunteers, served as an advisor to the Democratic Town Committee, as well as a development advisor for Women’s Health Research at Yale, and the Greater Hartford YWCA In the Company of Women gala. She is an active member of the First Congregational Church of Guilford–a progressive, affirming, sanctuary Church at the forefront of social justice issues including gun safety, prison re-entry, immigration, and climate change.
