Complete, total, 100% honesty from Team Gallego today.

On September 30th, we’re going to file our numbers with the FEC. Whether we hit our goals or not, those numbers are going public.

And if they went out today, we’d be ashamed.

We had a huge launch — a historic first day raise. Our first few months were huge, too. But lately, we haven’t been able to convince folks to make their first donation.

We’re not sure if it’s because folks think Ruben has won this race already based on the polls. That’s just not true — polls this early aren’t worth the paper they’re written on.

We’re not sure if it’s because we’ve beaten Sinema’s raise each quarter. We have, but we’re running a campaign here. She hasn’t even announced yet. While we’re spending, Sinema is stashing away every dollar she raises.

And we’re not sure if it’s because our GOP opponents are so ridiculous, so far-right, that people think we’ll definitely beat them. These people are dangerous — and worse, in a state like Arizona, they can win.
