John,

The first confirmed report of a baby saved at a 40 Days for Life vigil this year comes from El Paso, Texas!

That's two in a row for El Paso, which also reported the first baby saved during last fall's 40 Days for Life campaign.

"By 8:00 am, a young couple came out of the Hill Top abortion facility to speak to Venessa and Jackie," said Mark, whose organization manages several area vigils.

The conversation empowered the couple to choose life!

When the facility refused to give a refund, Jackie shared that financial assistance is available to cover the payment for the cancelled abortion appointment and redirected the couple to a nearby pregnancy help center.

And that wasn't the day's only turnaround.

When another couple arrived for a different service, Venessa informed them that they were visiting an abortion facility.

"The lady’s face was in shock," Venessa reported. "She said 'oh no' and ended up leaving."

A few campaigns couldn't wait for Day 1 to hit the sidewalks. They went out early and saved babies from abortion!

Boulder, Colorado

Saved babies are hard to come by in Boulder.

That's because the vigil is held in front of one of the world's most notorious third-trimester abortion facilities. Many women travel across the country for late-term abortions in Boulder and are reluctant to turn back.

But on Tuesday, prayer warriors were on hand and saved a baby from abortion--proof that prayer works even in the most difficult situations.

"They told us they changed their minds because they saw us praying," wrote Janet. "People say that our presence praying makes couples change their minds, but until I witnessed that, I only nominally believed it."

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Just after 7:00 pm the night before the campaign started, Mark in Milwaukee was standing vigil when he encountered an abortion-bound woman and her mother.

But God had other plans in mind for this family.

"Praise the Lord for HE is GOOD!" Mark said. "He showed us a save tonight. A grandmother and daughter made a great decision tonight to love their BABY!"

In those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution.

— Acts 6:1

Father, in the Church’s desire to engage our communities with the Gospel, let us gain wisdom from those who have gone before us and cherish their experiences and perspectives. Help us to appreciate every soul in the body of Christ and minister properly to everybody.
