We really hope you are keeping well. This is a quick email to let you know about upcoming trainings in the National Youth Arts Programme and the opening for applications of the Artist and Youth Work Residency Grant Scheme. Please read below for more information and links to book the following:

Circus Skills in Youth Work Settings Training (Including Practical Toolkit Valued at €120, plus programme plans and video tutorials), Wednesday, 1st April 2020 Dublin
This tailored training is designed in partnership with Dublin Circus School to address your needs as a facilitator by adding a range of beginner circus skills to your youth work toolkit! It provides practical tips and a beginner circus toolkit to ensure success and aims to enhance your creative ability, artistic skills and confidence when working with young people.
Objectives
* Provide participants with a range of practical skills to deliver a high quality circus skills programme that supports and advances youth work outcomes
* Learning-by-doing approach allows participants to explore the process from participant point of view and deepens learning outcomes
* Participants will be equipped to deliver a 6-8 week course for young people within their own youth work setting.
* The following new skills will be covered: Circuit, Balance & Free Play, Juggling Scarves & Balls, Diabolo & Flower Stick, Hula Hoop & Spinning Plate
* Toolkits will ensure that new skills learned will continue to be maximised when back in your youth setting.
€95 for member organisations or participants of regional networking hubs, €105 for non members - Lunch, toolkit and resources are included in the price.

This tailored youth arts training explores photography as a creative and exciting medium for engaging young people. By developing practical skills in digital photography participants will become inspired and more confident about using photography when working with young people.

Mayo Sligo Leitrim Youth Arts Networking Hub: Save the Date
NYCI and Mayo Sligo Leitrim ETB Youth Arts Networking Day. We are delighted to confirm that our next meeting will take place Tuesday, 21st April,10 – 2pm (including networking lunch) in Mayo and that the training input will be Photography in Youth Work Settings. Further details to be announced soon.
Film Editing When Working with Young People Training, Tuesday 5th May 2020, Galway
This tailored film editing training is designed for anyone working with young people. It provides the basic practical and creative skills to deliver a programme while maintaining a youth work centred approach. It is a good follow up training for those who have attended our filmmaking training and want to progress further.

Artist and Youth Work Residency Grant Scheme:
Do you have a good idea for a youth arts project in your youth group but require the funding to work with an artist? You could be eligible to apply for either a: Full Grant of €5000 or an Explorer Grant of €1500. Closing date for applications 23rd March 2020.
The Artist and Youth Work Residency Grant Scheme is designed to promote innovative partnerships between youth groups, artists and (where relevant) arts organisations. A residency may take the form of an artist in residence in a youth work setting and/or a youth group in residence in an arts setting. There are two strands to the artist and youth work residency scheme. Youth Arts Explorer and Artist and Youth Work Full Residency Grant.
Applications are now invited to support innovative partnerships involving artists in residence in youth work settings and/or youth groups in residence in arts settings commencing in June 2020. The scheme is managed by the National Youth Council of Ireland on behalf of the Arts Council and the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.
