Meet the people behind our Living With Wildlife appeal

With a lack of food and opportunities to make a living, families living around Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda are struggling to survive. As a result, some people lay traps in the hope of catching bushmeat to feed their families.

The [ Living With Wildlife ]( [link removed] ) appeal will work to help communities and wildlife to thrive alongside each other, through a combination of training and community engagement. Plus, as part of UK Aid Match, all money raised before 14 April will be doubled by the UK government!

Hear from Olar, Julius, and Joska to find out how your support can change lives.

Farmers Olar and Joyce are keen to develop a good relationship with the national park and its animals. Olar believes engagement with conservation efforts and new income opportunities will help animals and people live in harmony.

Having grown up nearby, Send a Cow Coordinator, Julius understands the challenges the local area faces. As part of the [ Living With Wildlife ]( [link removed] ) project, Julius will help local farmers build the confidence they need to grow their own food and start small businesses.

Joska began working with Send a Cow in 2018 and she's living proof that our work in Northern Uganda is changing lives. Joska and her family now have plenty of crops to eat and sell. She even has plans to expand the farm and send all her children to school this year
