This budget would hurt older Americans [link removed]     SIGN Our Petition to Stop This
Bad Budget! [link removed]   DearJohn,  Once again, President Trump has sent a grim message to older Americans in his budget proposal for 2021: You will need to get by with less. After the President reaffirmed his pledge to protect Social Security and Medicare in his State of the Union address earlier this month, we had hoped his budget plan, which lays out his critical priorities for the next fiscal year, would leave these programs intact.

Unfortunately, his budget proposes more than $1.5 TRILLION in cuts to Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid — and is incredibly harmful to workers, retirees and our nation's most vulnerable citizens! The budget also reduces block grant funding for vital Meals on Wheels programs, which deliver two million hot meals to seniors, and eliminates programs that help lower-income adults get community service jobs and help seniors with heating costs.
Please help the National Committee ensure this callous budget is stopped dead in its tracks by <a alt="Click Here to Sign Our Petition" href="[link removed]" name="trump_budget" style="text-decoration: underline; color: #004D96; text-align: left;" title="Click Here to Sign Our Petition" ><strong><u>signing our Urgent Petition to Congress today,</u></strong></a> addressed to your U.S. Representative. <em>This is an election year, so your member of Congress is paying extra close attention to what constituents like you have to say!</em>
This budget foreshadows a broader attack on seniors' earned benefits that President Trump hinted at in a recent interview, when he said that cutting "entitlements" is "the easiest of all things." Our most vulnerable citizens should not be expected to pay for policies that favor the wealthy and big corporations, most notably the Trump-GOP tax cuts of 2017 that exploded budget deficits.

Bottom line, President Trump's budget shortchanges millions of Americans! So we must fight back against the draconian idea that Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are somehow expendable programs — an idea that remains in the bloodstream of fiscal hawks in Congress. Voice your concerns directly to your member of Congress by signing our Urgent Petition today! [link removed] There is far too much at stake not to speak out!
          Sincerely, Max Richtman
