August was a busy month in Virginia’s First Congressional District, so I
wanted to take a moment to share some of the highlights.
BACK TO SCHOOL
*
Summer is wrapping up and our students have headed back to the classroom -
including my 6 grandchildren. Boy how the time flies!
* Earlier last month, I joined Governor Youngkin at his Parents Matter rally
in Richmond. I am working with the Governor to ensure better educational
opportunities for children at the Federal and State level.

* As the husband and son of educators and as a father and grandfather, I am
making it a top priority in Congress to strengthen Parents’ Rights and improve
education for our children.
VIRGINIA POLITICAL UPDATE
2023 Elections
* The 2023 Virginia Elections are heating up. We have the opportunity to
expand our majority in the House of Delegates and flip the Senate of Virginia.
* I’m teaming up with Governor Youngkin and other Virginia Republican leaders
to spread the word aboutSecure Your Vote Virginia.

2024 Elections
* My 2022 Democrat opponent has filed to run against me again. I’m not taking
any chances so Team Wittman is hard at work to lay the foundation for winning

* Last year, Virginia gained a fantastic Representative in Jen Kiggans. I am
honored to serve with her on the House Armed Services Committee. As a freshman
Member of Congress, Jen is seen as more vulnerable than most - I hope you’ll

OUT AND ABOUT
National Night Out
* I participated in this year’s National Night Out in Glen Allen, an annual
event that fosters police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie
to make our neighborhoods safer. It was wonderful to speak with law enforcement
officers, community leaders, and VA-01 constituents.

Supporting Virginia’s Maritime Industry
* On August 24, I had the pleasure to speak with Maritime leaders about the
issues facing their industry and what barriers stand in their way. The Maritime
and Defense industries play a vital role in Virginia’s success!
