John, the decision to strike down Alabama’s Congressional map is a huge win for Black voters in the state. But let me make this clear: Republicans will not stop working to suppress Black votes anytime soon.
58 years after the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 we are STILL fighting to ensure that all Americans have the right to vote. Through gerrymandering and repressive voting laws, Republicans have stacked election after election in their favor by excluding Black voters from our democracy.
Why? Because they’re terrified of progress. They know suppressing Black votes is their only means of maintaining their majority in the House and in state legislatures across the country.
I’m running for Congress because I know we need more voices like mine at the table to help expand voting rights for all — because our Democracy functions best when all eligible have easy access to the ballot box. But I can’t do it alone.
Will you make a contribution of $10 or any amount towards my campaign so I can serve as this necessary voice in Congress?

John, our votes matter. If they didn’t, Republicans wouldn't work so hard to suppress them.
Alabama’s attempt to minimize the Black vote is not an isolated incident — this year alone courts have overturned maps in Louisiana and Florida, and are currently ruling on maps in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Utah.
We must do better than this, which is why I am answering the call to serve to ensure our most fundamental right as Americans is protected. Will you chip in any amount towards my campaign?
Thank you for your continued support,
Dr. Brian Williams
