The Push for Hand Counting: A ([link removed]) Step Back in Responsible Election Practices ([link removed])

By Sam Oliker-Friedland

Here is an update from today.
* The Ohio Supreme Court dismissed ([link removed]) lawsuits challenging Ohio's gerrymandered congressional map. The plaintiffs asked for the case to be dismissed, arguing it is the best case scenario since an even more egregious gerrymander could be approved for 2024.
+ With the dismissal, Ohio voters will vote under an illegally gerrymandered congressional map for the 2024 election. However, new districts will be drawn for 2026 and Ohio groups are working toward ([link removed]) a ballot measure to enact a citizen-led redistricting commission.

Here’s what to expect coming up.
* Tomorrow, a special grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia may release ([link removed].) its report on the two-year investigation into purported 2020 election interference by former President Donald Trump’s campaign. The report may also recommend people to indict in addition to the 19 people indicted by District Attorney Fani Willis (D).
