John,
Today, the Senate FINALLY voted to confirm the fifth FCC commissioner, Anna Gomez1. This means that after years of work we actually have a fully functioning FCC, and a real shot at reversing Ajit Pai’s disastrous decision to repeal net neutrality.
We need to move quickly to win back net neutrality, and to get the FCC to protect our privacy and ensure that everyone has access to affordable, open Internet. But we need your support to make this work happen. Can you chip in right now to help win back net neutrality?
DONATE NOW
Net neutrality is the principle that everyone should have access to websites and apps, preventing Internet providers like Comcast & Verizon from creating “fast lanes,” censoring content, throttling traffic and even outright blocking access to their competitor’s products. It is the best way to ensure an open and fair Internet for all.
Fight for the Future has been a leader in the fight for net neutrality from the start. We created battleforthenet.com as the hub site for net neutrality actions, drove millions of comments in support of the Open Internet Order in 2015, and opposed Ajit Pai’s repeal of the regulations in 2017.2 We have organized small businesses, first responders, lawmakers and civil society groups to fight for the open Internet.
Now, we must ensure that restoring net neutrality is the new FCC’s first order of business.
Here’s our game-plan:
-
Demand that the FCC restore net neutrality NOW. We’ll do this by creating a flood of pressure in the media, via petitions and other grassroots actions.
-
We’ll raise the alarm if Big Telecom tries to submit false comments again. That’s right—in the past telecom giants paid to get fake comments submitted to the FCC against net neutrality.3 We helped catch them last time and we’ll be on high alert again to make sure they don’t cheat the process.
-
We’ll help thousands of REAL people submit comments to the FCC in support of net neutrality rules, and use Battle for the Net to make it easy for you to engage. We’re ready to organize Team Internet to win.
Will you help put these plans into action by donating?
You can help ensure that everyone - including rural and digitally red-lined communities - have access to affordable, open Internet, free from censorship and surveillance. Every donation gets us closer to winning back the Internet.
Can we count on you to donate $10, $20, or $30 to support this important work?
DONATE
As always, thank you for taking action and being part of the team that will succeed in restoring net neutrality.
Together,
Caitlin, Fight for the Future
