Dear John,
This Congressional race is about building community and not being afraid to reach across the aisle.
Case in point: Last month, I went to a biker rally. I went to the Fair. I’ve reached out to business owners and folks wearing Trump 2024 t-shirts. To talk to voters. As a Democrat.
And you want to know what? We agreed that being American was more important than any political party.
The truth is, Northern & Upper Michigan need a representative who's focused on getting things done, not on which party you've registered with.
For me, that means talking to voters from all walks of life and finding common ground.
As it turns out, we want to protect our democracy, we want good paying jobs. We want a safe future for our kids.
Ultimately, some conversations started with "I could never vote for a Democrat" and ended with us agreeing on the many ways that our government could do better for us here (healthcare, jobs, veteran benefits, early childhood education - the list goes on)– and a promise that they'd consider my name when they see me on the ballot because being from here and for here - folks know that we are in this together.
This is the type of campaigning we need in Northern & Upper Michigan: Leaders who aren't afraid to get to know people and find common ground.
If that's the type of work you'd like to see our next member of Congress undertake, chip in today and help pay for the gas to get to these events. We've got a huge fundraising deadline at the end of the month, and every bit helps us build the community that protects our democracy.
Tuebor,
Callie
