Hi,
If you haven’t already heard, the global theme for Earth Day 2024 is Planet vs. Plastics <[link removed]>. Plastics are a critical issue for human and planetary health, and we want to see genuine changes being made around the world, both in reducing plastic production and dealing with plastic waste.
But plastics go beyond pollution. Did you know that plastics also contribute to the climate crisis? The process of making plastics out of fossil fuels is energy-intensive and releases significant amounts of greenhouse gasses. Emissions from manufacturing, deforestation, and pollution from plastic incineration make matters worse.
The key to responding to the plastics and climate problems we face is conversation and communication. With the first Climate Week of the year kicking off this month, we’re taking the opportunity ask you: What are your plans for Climate Week 2023?
Take the survey and tell us what you’re doing to help the planet. <[link removed]>

Regional Climate Weeks build up awareness and momentum for the annual UN Climate Change Conference, COP28. Africa Climate Week kicks off climate weeks around the world, including Climate Week NYC hosted alongside the 78th UN General Assembly.
EARTHDAY.ORG is dedicated to working with countries around the world to create impactful action in climate change. The environmental activism movement is fueled by collaboration, and we’d love to hear what you have to say.
Renew your commitment to the planet and tell us what you’re doing to safeguard the Earth this year. <[link removed]>
For the planet,
