Today, I am thrilled to launch my candidacy for re-election as your representative in Pennsylvania's 12th District. It has been an incredible journey serving you, and I am ready to continue the work we started!
When y'all sent me to Congress the first time, you broke history by electing the first Black woman to ever serve Pennsylvania. Only 22 states have ever done so, and together, we smashed that cement ceiling and put PA on the list!
From the very beginning, my campaign has been rooted in a promise—a promise to fight for you, for a better world, for justice and equity in every room, and for the humanity of every member of our community. These pledges remain at the core of my mission, and I am more determined than ever to deliver on them.
Over the past term, we have already achieved so much together–imagine what we can do with another 2 years!
So far, I've had the privilege of securing hundreds of millions of dollars to stimulate the growth of housing and job opportunities right here in our district. These investments have not only revitalized our local economy but will also significantly enhance the quality of life for our constituents.
Moreover, I've taken the initiative to introduce three bills aimed at tackling pressing issues that affect our community. Beyond that, I've been at the forefront, co-leading over a dozen other bills, tirelessly working to instigate positive changes that benefit us all.
So far, we’ve helped deliver hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding, introduced 3 new bills and co-led over a dozen more, helped over 1,200 constituents, while taking on MAGA white supremacists, greedy corporations, and dark $ donors profiting off the people.
But let me be clear–-I am not running for re-election just to stay in power. I am running to keep my promises to you, to ensure that Pennsylvania's 12th District gets the leadership it needs and deserves, and to make sure that we build a future where no one gets left behind.
