Don't listen to the NRA puppets who tell you there's just nothing we can do about gun violence in this country. It's nonsense.

Look at California.

Fact: California is ranked as the #1 state for gun safety by Giffords Law Center. Meaning, we have the strongest gun laws in the country.

And the result?

Fact: California has a 43% lower gun death rate than the rest of the U.S. according to data from the CDC analyzed by the California Department of Justice's Office of Gun Violence Prevention.

Fact: California’s gun homicide rate for youth was nearly 50% lower in 2022 than it was in 2006.

Fact: The next two most populous states after California – Florida and Texas – experienced substantial increases over this same period, with youth homicide rates rising by 24% in Florida and 49% in Texas.

Fact: “If the firearm mortality rate in the rest of the U.S. matched California’s over this same period, there would have been nearly 140,000 fewer firearm-related deaths across the nation in that decade alone, and potentially hundreds of thousands fewer gunshot injuries.”

Imagine that... 140,000 fewer deaths. How many kids who lost parents and siblings... how many parents who lost a child... how many lives have been forever altered after being injured by a gunshot...

And here's one that gets me and demonstrates the need for a Constitutional Amendment on gun violence that applies to all states:

Fact: “In 2021, just over half (50.4%) of the firearms recovered by law enforcement in California and successfully traced to a final dealer of record were traced to dealers located in other states."

Got that? The majority of guns recovered by law enforcement in California were traced to a dealer from other states.

We know what we have to do to solve the epidemic levels of gun violence in this country. We just need leaders with the courage to act.

It's time to amend the Constitution.
