We have a major update in Attorney General Rob Bonta’s lawsuit to protect California’s children and LGBTQ+ students:
Los Angeles Times: Judge blocks Chino Valley schools' policy of notifying parents about LGBTQ+ students [[link removed]]
Yesterday, at the request of the state of California, a Superior Court judge ruled that Chino Valley Unified School District must HALT enforcement of its dangerous policy forcing school officials to notify parents if they learn a student identifies as gender-nonconforming or transgender.
This temporary restraining order is a victory against a growing trend of MAGA school boards pushing anti-LGBTQ+ policies that threaten students and put their well-being at risk. But the fight isn’t over.
Chino Valley Unified School District’s discriminatory policy has since influenced other conservative school boards across the state to pass similar forced outing policies, which target and single out transgender and gender-nonconforming students while violating the state constitutional, privacy, and civil rights of all our children.
A hearing to discuss this policy further is scheduled for October 13. Join Rob in standing up for California’s children and LGBTQ+ youth by signing our petition opposing this illegal and dangerous policy today → [[link removed]]

As Attorney General, Rob won’t let any school district or board of education violate the law and hurt children in our state.
Thanks for taking action,
Team Bonta
