New Politics is here to help servant leaders running for office who will bring much-needed integrity to our democracy at every level. Our latest round of endorsed candidates exemplify the values we know will make real change – no matter what party or level of office.

Meet Ed Han, an Air Force Reservist running for the State Assembly in California’s 44th District! As a first-generation immigrant, Ed saw his parents work hard to build a life in their new home in Monte Vista, CA, the community he grew up in, and is now running to serve in the State Assembly. Ed saw that a country like the U.S. that enabled immigrants to build a life from nothing into a life they could thrive in was a country worth serving and defending. And that spirit guided his service ever since, from seven years in the federal prosecutor’s office to serving as an Air Force officer.

Now, Ed is running for the Assembly to ensure that the American dream becomes an American reality for more of us.

Emily Beach is an Army veteran running for San Mateo County Supervisor! In the Army, Emily served in Saudi Arabia and South Korea, where she learned to build connections with people from all walks of life and how to embrace hard work, two values she brings to her public service career.

During her eight years as a City Councilmember and former Mayor in Burlingame, she loved shaping public policy to improve her communities, and she’ll bring that same experience to the County Supervisor’s office. [link removed]

Dr. Brian Williams is an Air Force veteran running for Congress in Texas’ 32nd district! Dr. Williams has always answered the call to serve, from his time in the Air Force to his current role as a trauma surgeon. Now he’s running for Congress to answer the call yet again. He’s witnessed America in crisis firsthand — from treating victims of gun violence to seeing patients denied adequate care due to lack of insurance — and he wants to be a part of the solution in Washington. He believes that progress is possible, but we have to continue the fight.

Dr. Williams is ready to use his record of service – as a Veteran, surgeon, and leader – to create life-saving change in Congress. [link removed]

New Politics supports outstanding military veterans and national service leaders, alumni of programs like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps, to step up and serve our country again, this time through politics. We were proud to be behind the movement of veterans who ran for office for the first time in 2018, and we have big plans to grow into the future.
