Well, guess Tuberville needed to respond to the Secretary of the Navy yesterday. He took his best shot.
Poems on aircraft carriers.
Wait until this guy finds out about the U.S. Navy Band. Yes, Tommy, they have people playing instruments, too! They even sing songs.
It’s easy to joke here, but this is actually serious. War has always been intertwined with art, with song, and yes, with poetry. Even General George S. Patton wrote poetry. These things deepen a warrior’s humanity and their connection to home, the reasons they put their lives on the line for their comrades and their countrymen.
Warrior poets are a proud and honored tradition.
If Tuberville read a book once in his life he’d know that.
But he’s a politician, through and through. And he’s going to keep injecting politics into our Military, undermining our Armed Forces at the same time he works to restrict the rights of our Veterans.
