[link removed] [[link removed]] John,
Yesterday, CREW made national and international news for taking the groundbreaking step of suing in Colorado to keep Donald Trump off the ballot in 2024.
Section 3 of the 14th Amendment makes clear that if you swear an oath to support the Constitution and then violate that oath by engaging in insurrection, you are disqualified from public office.
That applies to Donald Trump, and we intend to prove it in court.
[link removed] [[link removed]]We have already successfully disqualified one insurrectionist from public office, and we can do it again.
Last year, we won a case CREW brought on behalf of three New Mexico residents to disqualify Couy Griffin from his office as Otero County commissioner. Griffin founded “Cowboys for Trump,” traveled the country inciting the January 6th insurrection and spreading the Big Lie, joined the mob on January 6th and called the rioters to violence using a bullhorn.
CREW has a hard-fought reputation for being a watchdog group that doesn’t just propose reforms or provide commentary—we take action. That’s why we believe we can win this fight.

CREW is a small nonprofit, with just about 40 employees, but support from individuals like you means we punch way above our weight:
We sued Donald Trump on his first day in the Oval Office for violating the Emoluments Clauses of the Constitution. That was a time when most people had never even heard of “emoluments.” The lawsuit only ended when Trump’s presidency did, and in the course of litigating the case, we convinced a judge to provide a definition of emoluments that would have applied to Trump.
We also filed a complaint against Clarence Thomas for his ethics scandals, set precedent by uncovering dark money donors, filed campaign finance complaints against former Rep. Duncan Hunter that were vindicated by his criminal conviction, secured dozens of findings of Trump administration Hatch Act violations and forced the disclosure of countless government records, including a secret memo Attorney General Bill Barr used to cover up the damning findings in the Mueller report.
That’s just a small sample of our work over the past 20 years.

This is our biggest fight yet, and our work is just getting started.
Thank you for the support,
Team CREW
