A tractor spraying glyphosate on a field.

John,

Bayer-Monsanto is at it again. A leaked document reveals that the EU Commission is ready to greenlight bee-killing, cancer-causing glyphosate for another 15 years.

We’re not going to let it happen.

Germany has already said it wants to ban glyphosate – so Bayer is pulling out all the stops, launching a massive lobbying campaign to make sure its favourite pesticide gets reapproved by the EU. The company even launched its own petition to try to rally public support!

Right now, we’re working alongside scientists to organize a massive demonstration outside EU headquarters in Brussels in September to put Bayer and our leaders on notice. Then we’ll launch an advocacy campaign of our own targeting EU decision-makers and running ads in key countries where we need to beat Bayer to secure an EU ban.

We’re just weeks away from a decision that could finally get glyphosate off our shelves …or ensure we’re surrounded by the poison for years to come. Can you help?

Bayer-Monsanto has been allowed to peddle glyphosate for so long that it’s literally everywhere – our parks, our fields, our food, even our urine. The last thing we need is years more of this stuff blanketing our outdoor spaces!

A leaked EU draft document points to the worst possible outcome this autumn – a full stamp of approval for a standard 15-year period. But Germany is taking steps to remove glyphosate from the market by the end of the year, which would complicate an EU-wide reapproval.

We know that Bayer would not have launched its online petition to rally public support for glyphosate if they thought that the re-approval process was a done deal. But to make sure this goes our way, we need to make sure the public knows what’s happening – then organize a massive demonstration to get media attention and show our politicians what we all want them to do.

We can still win this and rid Europe of glyphosate forever, but we have to move fast – a decision is expected in October!

If everyone reading this chips in the cost of a coffee, we’ll be able to launch an all-out campaign surge between now and the final vote. It’s now or never – are you in?
