Friend -
ProPublica continues to do excellent research into the “buying” of a supreme court. See their latest in their series on “ Friends of the Court [[link removed]] ” covering the many gifts and funding billionaires have lavished on Justices Thomas and Alito . These justices have been linked to the likes of billionaires Harlan Crow, Paul Singer, and H. Wayne Huizenga as well as multi-millionaires David Sokol and Paul Novelly.
What is most disappointing is that we have been raised in America to believe that the Supreme Court is supposed to be above the potential of corruption and the most ethical in its efforts to judge based on truth.

That is why we have to decide on what kind of culture and sense of trust we want in each other and of our leaders. It is clear that Alito and Thomas are aware of the public's distrust since they are not reporting the millions of dollars in gifts that are being showered on them. That is why they don’t and that is why they won’t really address this problem.
The Supreme Court does not have many ethics rules, it doesn’t have deep conflict of interest reporting rules, and justices are given lifetime appointments to relieve them of any potential of political pressure. The Supreme Court was not set up to be above the laws of ethics and morals. It was supposed to be the most trusted body in the land. It was also not supposed to be a career pathway to billionaire life.
Now we need everyone to be aware of these ethics and moral violations. There needs to be debate and decisions about what these billionaire wannabes are all about. We cannot stand by and just watch as our country is torn apart by rulings driven by the lust for wealth and envy of extravagant living. Reform the Supreme Court or just get rid of the unethical Justices.
But let’s get back on the right track. We need to regain trust in the courts and find a way back from these dark times.
