STATEWIDE GET OUT THE VOTE TOUR CONTINUES THIS WEEK

Last week we hit the road during the first week of Early Voting with one goal in mind: To keep Texas red.

We rallied with 6 candidates at 5 rallies in 5 different cities across the state.

And we're not done yet - We're already back on the road this week.

Make sure you get out and VOTE this week for strong candidates that will help us keep the majority in the Texas House.

TEXAS IS THE TOP TARGET FOR AN $8M CAMPAIGN TO FLIP THE TEXAS HOUSE

The Michael Bloomberg-backed group that helped flip Virginia's State House last year has their sights set on Texas in 2020.

The group already has 400,000 volunteers on the ground in Texas.

Republicans need to come together to defend the Texas House in November.

Let's remind the national Democrats not to mess with Texas.

EMPOWERING VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Too often, victims of human trafficking are pulled into a vicious cycle of crime.

That's why Texas announced an initiative to help survivors apply for clemency with the opportunity to receive a full pardon.

We are empowering survivors so they may find a second chance at life.

THE CITY OF LONGVIEW CELEBRATES 150 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE

The City of Longview had a huge birthday bash last weekend to celebrate their 150th birthday.

Longview helped shape who I am. I wouldn't be living in the Governor's Mansion had I not lived in Longview first.

Here's to 150 more years of Longview shaping the future of Texas.

TEXAS HISTORY: REMEMBERING THE ALAMO- TRAVIS LETTER

Monday marked the 184th anniversary of William B. Travis sending the famous "Travis Letter" to the People of Texas.

He reminded us that freedom is worth fighting for. Surrounded at the Alamo, facing certain defeat, Travis declared that he would never surrender or retreat.

He wrote, “Victory or Death” and later died for independence.

May we never forget the price of freedom.

MAKE SURE YOU GET OUT AND VOTE THIS WEEK DURING EARLY VOTING

The First Lady and I hit the polls to cast our ballots last week during Early Voting.

It’s not too late for you to do the same. Early Voting ends this Friday, the 28th. Find your polling location here.
