John,
Bucks County, Pennsylvania was my first classroom for democracy. Growing up in Bucks, I learned firsthand through my neighbors and community how an inclusive democracy, one in which everyone has a voice, is vital to the creation of the uniquely composite nation of which Frederick Douglass spoke. But voting rights are on the line in Bucks County this November. Right now, Democrats Bob Harvie and Diane Marseglia are in a neck-and-neck race with Republicans over control of the Bucks County Board of Commissioners — which oversees how people vote in the county.
If Republicans control the county commission, they could make it a lot harder for people to vote, swinging the district for Republicans up and down the ballot in 2024. And if MAGA Republicans sue the county like Trump did after 2020 (11 times!), we have to make sure it's Democrats defending voters' voices, not election deniers. So that's why I'm asking — will please split a donation between Bucks United (the Democrats' group) and my campaign? |
