John - Last week, the Biden administration announced a proposed rule to eliminate the gun show loophole and require everyone who deals in firearms to have a federal license and conduct background checks on buyers, no matter the venue.

This reform could keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers, past offenders, and anyone who is unable to pass the necessary background check. It would limit not only mass shootings, but the everyday gun violence that plagues our country.

But this proposed rule is just that - proposed, and the NRA and the gun lobby are already preparing a court challenge. That’s why I’m asking you to join me in standing with the Biden administration in support of this proposed rule. Will you add your name here today? [[link removed]]

I ran for office to fight for common-sense gun reforms like this one and I’ve worked day in and day out to represent families like mine who have been torn apart by gun violence.

It’s hard not to get emotional about the impact of something like this. We have the chance to close one of the biggest gun loopholes in the country and create a system of checks that can stop firearms from getting into the hands of those who shouldn’t have them. We have the chance to save lives.
