If you’ve ever wondered about one of the less-publicized, sometimes not-so-glamorous, but still essential parts of American politics — opposition research — then you are in the right place.
American Muckrakers specializes in opposition research, but we do it differently than the party-aligned committees and consultants who get paid hefty sums of money and often decide unilaterally what matters to the voters and what doesn’t. Ours is a novel grassroots opposition research approach. What that means in practice is that our team serves to amplify the fact-based, corroborated tips that thousands of sleuths discover and send our way.
Take candidate for Governor of North Carolina, Mark Robinson, a man who thinks man-made climate change is a hoax, wants to utterly destroy public education, an institution that he claims only exists to “indoctrinate” children, and has an eye-brow raising level of hatred for LGBTQ+ folks.
