I’m excited to share that today Governor Hochul signed two of my bills into law! 

S.4982 is a big deal for workers at Starbucks, Amazon, Trader Joe’s and any other company where organizing is booming. We know that in an effort to control and intimidate workers, employers have been requiring workers to sit through meetings where the employers’ political beliefs are presented with no opportunity for debate or dialogue.

You do not check your First Amendment rights at the door when you arrive to work. S.4982 grants workers the ability to excuse themselves from captive audience meetings and hold their boss accountable if they face retaliation.
