Friend –

All ACLU-D.C. members are invited to this year's annual membership meeting <[link removed]> on Wednesday, September 27 at 6 p.m. via Zoom. We will give updates on our organization, our recent work, and future strategic priorities.

Our Legal Director Scott Michelman and Organizing Director Maxine Davis will also discuss and answer your questions about our lawsuit <[link removed]> and coalition work* <[link removed]> that aim to transform the District's crisis response system. D.C.'s current crisis response system relies heavily on police, which is ineffective and unsafe for people with mental health disabilities. Bring your questions about how we are building a crisis response system that provides care, not punishment, to people in crisis.
