Friend,
Last year, Courage California helped collect more than 100,000 signatures
to convince Congress to pass a 15% minimum tax on corporate profits.
It was a huge win and a giant step forward in making corporations pay
their fair share toward a country that actually supports its citizens.
But now that hard work is at risk. The U.S. Treasury Department is
currently finalizing the rules for the tax, and corporate lobbyists
representing AT&T, Ford, Duke Energy, and others are pushing the Biden
administration to create loopholes that would render the tax
meaningless.(1) We need our voice to be heard louder than billion-dollar
corporations.

stand up against corporate pressure and protect the 15% minimum tax?

The numbers are staggering -- if we had a 15% corporate tax in 2021, AT&T,
Berkshire Hathaway, Ford, and Amazon’s bill alone would have been $14.3
billion dollars.(2)
That’s $14.3 billion we could have spent on desperately needed programs,
like SNAP, Head Start, HUD, and paid family leave.
Instead, many of the largest corporations in the U.S. continue to pay $0
in federal taxes annually, despite posting record profits.
The corporate minimum tax is critical to an America that works for working
families, and we can’t let lobbyists push the Biden administration to make
it toothless. Will you sign on to tell the administration to keep the
corporate minimum tax free of loopholes?
[ [link removed] ]Yes, I’ll sign today.
Thank you for joining the fight.

of the Courage team)
