Dear Hunger Champion,

This month, I’d like to invite you to be part of a program to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to children ages 0-6.

In South Africa, we’re implementing school gardens at Early Childhood Development Centers (ECDs). These gardens support long-term food security through the cultivation of fresh produce to complement Rise Against Hunger meals and improve children’s quality of life.

I will share an example with you: In partnership with Orange Farm Lakeside in Johannesburg, we’re harvesting vegetables and providing produce to local ECDs. But the program did not stop there – parents also received training to start their own gardens, improving access to nutrition, food security and self-sufficiency.

Each garden can nourish up to 700 children, families and school staff. Your gift today can truly harvest nutrition and hope for small children during the most critical phase of their development.

With gratitude,
