We see their importance especially now, as coast-to-coast workers are striking across industries fighting for safer working conditions, better pay, and stronger unions. We all benefit from these efforts, and that’s why I will always fight for workers in Washington.
Every year, I’m inspired by the outpouring of support for the labor community during the Philadelphia Labor Day parade. It’s always a joy to see familiar faces along the route, and this year it was great to welcome an extra special guest: President Biden always shows up for the hardworking men and women who helped establish the safety and work practices many of us enjoy to this day. We owe them our respect and commitment.
That’s why I’m so incredibly proud of the endorsement our campaign has received from our friends in labor like the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, Pennsylvania Federation of Teachers (PFT), the National Education Association (NEA), AFSCME Local 47, and Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals (PASNAP).
I hope that you and your loved ones enjoyed your Labor Day weekend.
In solidarity,
– Mary Gay
