Ground Game Texas

John,

Today is a historic moment in Texas, albeit in infamy. Our top state law enforcement officer, Attorney General Ken Paxton, is undergoing an impeachment trial for an array of offenses including corruption and abuse of power.

Ken Paxton is the embodiment of the Texas Republican Party.

We’ve known for years that Ken Paxton is among the worst of the worst. He will go down in history for his attacks on American democracy — filing lawsuits in the name of Texas to overturn the results of the 2020 Presidential election. He uses his authority to attack voting rights, public education, worker rights, union rights, LGBT+ equality, the immigrant community, the environment, and so much more.

And unfortunately, in 2018 we had a chance to stop him before he did his worst. When Texas Democrats were surging, Paxton won re-election by 3.6% — a total of 295,109 votes.

Ground Game Texas is working to make sure we don’t miss another opportunity to replace corrupt officials like Paxton. Donate $25 or more today to help us add tens of thousands of Democratic votes in the critical 2024 election cycle.

We know that every election, Democrats leave votes on the table. For a variety of reasons, we don’t speak to the right people, with the right message, at the right time, and far too many of our voters stay home.

Ground Game is doing our part to ensure that doesn’t happen again. In key regions next year, we’re launching campaigns to add tens of thousands of votes up and down the ballot. Our plan is straightforward: we’ll recruit young people and other key constituencies to support progressive issues like marijuana reform and a $15/hr minimum wage, and these same voters stay in the booth to vote for candidates who support progressive causes.

Democrats came so close to defeating Ken Paxton in 2018, and imagine the good that would have done for Texas. Please join us in ensuring that we don’t miss our next opportunity to keep criminals like Paxton out of power.
