NIJC, Access Now and Cristosal co-authored a complaint filed by Stanford Law School’s International Human Rights & Conflict Resolution Clinic that exposes the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s dependence on erratic information concerning immigrants from El Salvador.

NIJC asks Congress to reject White House's funding request for more border militarization and new ICE family facilities

ICE and border patrol want more funding after receiving billions of dollars this fiscal year to pursue anti-immigrant actions that harm our communities. 

NIJC is calling on Congress to reject the White House's ask for funding to boost militarization, surveillance, and other efforts such as creating facilities that aim to reinstate family detention as reported by The Border Chronicle.

Instead, we should invest in humane border processing solutions and support local governments and NGOs so they can provide services to new arrivals.

Mother Jones details the process of unjust deportation and the impact of NIJC's Chance to Come Home campaign 

In a new piece, Mother Jones highlights how deeply the flaws of our immigration system hurt, punish and fail people who are important parts of our communities.

NIJC Associate Policy Director Nayna Gupta, spoke about the direct impact our system has had on the members of our Chance to Come Home campaign who have been unfairly deported and uprooted from their families and homes.

NIJC's recent arrivals team kicked off two pro se workshops to provide legal services to people and families who recently came to Chicago in search of asylum.
