A contribution now, ahead of February's FEC deadline, will go further than that same amount given right before Election Day.
DemocratsJoin us.

I am humbly asking you to be one of 82 more supporters from Washington to make a contribution to the Democratic Party before Saturday's crucial FEC deadline. Give me a moment to tell you why:

February is one of the final months before we as Democrats could know who will ultimately become the Democratic nominee for president. That's important, John, because the money our party is able to raise before the general election begins will translate directly into how prepared we are to support candidates from the top to the bottom of the ticket as they go toe-to-toe with Trump and the RNC.

I've told you before that a contribution now, while it's still early in the race, will go further than that same amount given right before Election Day. But as more and more states cast their votes in this primary, that early investment window is rapidly closing.

What we get done this month will be make-or-break for our party, and our fundraising goal reflects that -- it's higher than any we've faced this year. We can reach it if everyone chips in what they can. Take a look at what needs to happen:

CITY Donors Still Needed
San Antonio 31
Washington 82
Carson City 20
Miami 28

We need every single person on board -- and according to our records, you have yet to make a contribution to the DNC this election cycle. I am asking you to step off the sidelines today by making your first $7 donation to our party before Saturday's FEC deadline. Any amount you can give will make a big difference.

I realize that our party sends you quite a few emails. But the truth is, we wouldn't ask if grassroots contributions made through emails like this one didn't play such a vital role in powering the important work our party is doing to prepare for the general election. By making your first investment of this election cycle, you'll own a critical piece of the success of programs like:

  • Battleground Build-Up 2020. This expansion is a multi-million dollar investment in 12 battleground states: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin, and Virginia. This massive investment will be key to ensuring many clear paths to 270 are possible for our eventual presidential nominee, and roughly double the number of on-the-ground field organizers in these states.

  • The Data Warehouse. In so many cases, the DNC is the only resource that down-ballot campaigns have to run data-driven campaigns -- and every Democratic presidential candidate running relies on the Democratic Party's voter file to effectively reach voters. Supporting accurate, reliable Democratic data infrastructure will be key to winning nationwide this November.

  • Our voter protection department. Defending the integrity of our elections is a full-time job, which is why the DNC's voter protection team works around the clock to make sure every voter is able to cast their ballot free of unnecessary barriers. When Democrats vote, Democrats win. Protecting the right to vote has never been more urgent.

All of these programs and more will be critical to the success of our eventual nominee and Democrats across the country -- but they can't reach their full potential unless we come together to reach our fundraising goals ahead of high-stakes deadlines like Saturday's. We can hit this month's goal if 82 more supporters like you from Washington chip in, so I am asking you to be one of them.

Will you make a $7 investment in the strong Democratic Party we need to fight and win? I am not exaggerating when I say that a contribution made today -- big or small -- will make an important impact.

In unity,

Tom
