Danny's briefing: New Senate caucus members, more cosponsors for H.R.
763

CCL VP for Government Affairs Danny Richter has good news to share in
his latest D.C. briefing. This month, the bipartisan Senate Climate
Solutions Caucus has added six new members, an indication that the
movement to reach across the aisle on climate change is gathering
momentum.

Last week, the caucus launched a new website

to inform the public about its membership and activities. You can tweet
your appreciation to the members of the caucus with CCL's online action
tool

.

Danny also shares news about the new cosponsors for the Energy
Innovation Act and the role these cosponsorships play in moving
legislation forward. You can thank these House members and other
cosponsors on Twitter

Lastly, Danny recommends that volunteers sign up for a Monthly Calling
Campaign

to generate a steady drumbeat of calls to members of Congress for action
on climate change. We have a training on CCL Community

about organizing these campaigns in your chapter.

Grasstops: 100 government endorsements

CCL hit a milestone this week with our first 100 local governments and
tribal entities endorsing the Energy Innovation Act. One recent
endorsement comes from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors

[link removed]

. At a population of 884,363, this represents the third largest
population to endorse the bill to date. You can view all of the Energy
Innovation Act resolutions and endorsements from local governments

and tribal entities

on the bill website.

Congratulations to all of our groups that have worked with their city
councils, county boards and tribal chapters to pass local resolutions
and obtain local governmental endorsements since H.R. 763 was introduced
last year.

CCL volunteers are regularly activating the " five levers

" of political will in their communities. If you would like to pursue
this type of grasstops work too, check out the training and resources on
" Engaging City & Local Governments For Resolutions

[link removed]

." A resolution template is included under the "Resources" tab. When you
successfully pass a local resolution, please email a signed and dated
.pdf file of the resolution to [email protected] or
[email protected] .

You can also head to the "Grasstops Engagement" forum on CCL Community
to ask questions and get support. Here's to another 100 resolutions in
2020!
