Here’s what you need to know: Before leaving DC earlier this summer, House Republicans introduced a series of drastic appropriations bills that would slash climate action and clean energy investments from the federal clean energy plan, and they also introduced a number of other anti-environment provisions.

Now, a group of extreme MAGA Republicans including Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan are doubling down on their demands, which include eliminating the EPA’s environmental justice budget, zeroing out the Greenhouse Gas Reduction fund, and removing the gray wolf from the Endangered Species list.

If they don’t get their way, they’re threatening to shut down the federal government. We’re on Capitol Hill working to connect with every single member of Congress before budget negotiations begin in earnest. But Friend, we need to do more — and if we can’t go bigger, we won’t win.
