Planning Commission Briefing Schedule

The six 30-day public comment periods presenting preliminary draft policy amendments for each of the Comprehensive Plan Update’s elements came to a close on May 31, 2023. Thank you to the hundreds of community members who took the time to review the preliminary draft policies and provide comments. Public comments help staff understand the potential impact of policies as well as the goals and desires of the communities that the County serves. Many public comments were utilized to amend draft policies before they

Community Outreach Update

Leading up to two September in-person open houses, the 2024 Update team was out in the community to answer questions, broaden awareness and engage with the public about the Update. The focus of the pop-up tabling was the upcoming release of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) on September 6, 2023.

September Open Houses & Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS)

On September 6, 2023, the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) will be published for a 45-day public comment period. The County will host two in-person open houses on September 12th and September 23rd to present the DEIS to the public and answer questions. Washington State Legislation - Impacts to Snohomish County

During the 2023 state legislative session that ended April 23, 2023, 1,776 bills were introduced and 480 were “completed.” Of those 480 some may impact Snohomish County and the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update.
