I had the honor of representing Orange County in Congress, so I know how incredible this community is. It’s home to hardworking, diverse families that deserve a representative that will stop at nothing to fight for what we need in Washington. I know Joanna will be that representative. When we defeated the “Orange Curtain” of Republican control in 2018 and flipped four congressional seats from red to blue, it was the hard work and commitment by people like Joanna who helped save our country’s democracy. Joanna’s record speaks for itself. While doing pro bono legal work for domestic violence survivors, seniors on fixed incomes and special needs students, she founded Women for American Values and Ethics (WAVE) – an organization whose very mission is to empower our community to hold our government accountable and progress democratic values. She’s the best candidate to take on the major issues we’re facing -- the climate crisis, defending reproductive freedom, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and fighting Republican extremism.
