But greedy power company executives and shareholders think otherwise; they’ve chosen to neglect our communities and failed to keep the power on amid extreme heat, hurricanes, and wildfires.

It doesn’t have to be this way. 

A reimagined future of reliable, renewable energy is not just a dream; it’s a real possibility across the country, and already underway in your backyard!  

Activists have a vision to transform their energy system from a centralized energy model held in the hands of a powerful few, to a decentralized one that is controlled by the people (via rooftop solar and battery solar projects). They’re demanding reliable and resilient energy that can withstand hurricanes, keep the air running through heat waves, and empower low-income and Afro-descendant communities in a new system that prioritizes their livelihoods over profit. Now, there is $12B of American taxpayer dollars available to help make this happen, and they’re calling on people in the U.S. to help amplify their demand.

Our tax dollars are at risk of being handed to yet another corporation. But from Puerto Rico to Hawaiʻi, we’re coming together to show the greedy power company executives and shareholders that the fate of our energy future is not for sale.
