John, we wanted to bring you back to Tuberville’s blockade on Military promotions today.

And we wanted to explain something — we want you to understand what the man appointed to be the next Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Eric Smith, can and can’t do.

Right now, the Marine Corps is undergoing a major, post-conflict restructuring. Everything is on the table, from grand strategy down to the size of an infantry battalion.

General Smith can speculate on what changes the Marines might need.

But General Smith cannot issue the orders. He cannot make the changes. He cannot shape the force in the way he needs to in order to address the threats and challenges that the Marine Corps is tasked with addressing.

In short, the Marine Corps is frozen. And with more than 300 promotions on hold, including the heads of the Army, Navy, and soon the Air Force, that freeze is affecting every service.

Tommy Tuberville and the GOP are doing untold damage to our Armed Forces.
