"It’s not proper for my wife or any other man’s wife to be leading the family in certain areas that God has ordained for me."

Those are the words of Mark Houck, the newest Republican to join the race for PA-01. And I gotta tell ya, they make me sick.

This is the kind of backwards thinking that would take us back to a time when women couldn't open a credit card in their own name (which we couldn't do until 1974). Hell, it's why women still aren't paid the same as a man for doing the same job!

But this is what the Republican Party of 2023 has become – a reactionary group that wants to force us ALL into the roles they think we should fulfill.

As a woman who flew Apache helicopters in the Army (and was the only woman graduate in my Apache class), I say to them, "Over my dead body."

The freedoms that Houck and Brian Fitzpatrick are trying to take away from all of us are the same ones I risked my life and fought for overseas. That's why I'm fighting like hell to win this race, and why I'll fight like hell in the halls of Congress against anyone who would take those freedoms away.
