No one should ever have to choose between paying for life-saving medication or putting food on the table. But that's been the reality for too many Americans for too long.
Kirsten has been clear that her top priority in Congress would be lowering the cost of health care, including prescription drugs.
With the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, Democrats in Congress gave Medicare the ability to negotiate drug costs medications directly with pharmaceutical companies.
Now, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have announced the first ten drugs selected for price negotiations. These are drugs that help treat diabetes, cancer, Crohn's, and more — and have cost Medicare billions of dollars.
This is a huge win — and it wouldn't have been possible without Democrats in Congress.
Kirsten's opponent, on the other hand, is part of an extreme far-right caucus whose budget would actively repeal the ability of Medicare to negotiate for lower prices.
